The Automatic Drill 'n Drive feeds the workpiece as well as the hanger bolt, dowel screw or threaded insert. This system can be built to process legs for upholstered furniture, including bun legs; dowels and turnings; fence post tops; stairway balusters; wooden knobs; virtually any symmetric component where the bolt is centered in the end. Each machine is designed and built to meet the specific requirements of the purchaser. Often a single machine will handle the full range of diameters and lengths produced.

The machine operator simply places the wood or plastic components in the loading position and the machine takes over the insertion process. As the workpieces are moved from station to station, the Automatic Drill 'n Drive bores a pilot hole, inserts a fastener and releases the finished component at the output station. The hanger bolts, dowel screws or threaded fasteners are oriented and fed to the driver automatically by our patented feed system.

A number of optional operations can be added to the process without additional handling by the operator. These include such things as inserting a plastic or metal glide, boring an auxiliary hole, shaping the opposite end, or stapling a barcode tag.
